Orders by email
Every organization in Brine has its own email address for incoming orders. Anything sent to it is read by Brine and turned into a draft order, ready for you to review.
Your intake address
Open Orders. Under the page title you'll see a line like Orders emailed to your-company@brine.email land here as drafts. Tap the address to copy it, and tap the info icon next to it for a short summary of how it works.
The address belongs to your organization, not to a person, so anyone on your team can use it.
Sending an order
There are two ways to use the address:
- Forward a customer's email. When an order arrives in your own inbox, forward it to the intake address and carry on. Brine takes it from there.
- Give the address to customers. Customers who order by email can send straight to it, with no forwarding step. Add it to your order confirmations or your website's ordering page.
Write the order in the body of the email. Brine reads the email text; attachments aren't read yet.
What Brine does with it
When an email arrives, Brine:
- Matches the sender and the order to a customer in your registry.
- Matches each requested item to a product in your catalog.
- Creates a draft order and assigns it to the customer's owner.
Anything Brine couldn't match with confidence is flagged for review on the draft, so nothing is guessed. A draft is never confirmed on its own. Someone on your team always checks it and moves it forward, exactly as described in Reviewing and approving orders.
